CHEMICAL-FREE POOL DESIGN
Imagine swimming in your own pool with water that you can drink. From a large family pool to a lap pool, we can design a pool to suit most location constraints. We work with a number of pool builders to manage the project through to sign off. For those in the inner city consider our small plunge pools or an indulgent outdoor bath on the back deck.
NATURAL PLAYSPACE DESIGN
Parents are increasingly becoming aware that the garden is a great opportunity for children to connect with nature. Everyday play should facilitate a child’s imagination, enabling kids to freely explore, create and problem solve.
Playground designers have a responsibility to the next generation and we take that responsibility very seriously. Why fill playspaces with plastic swings and equipment that tells a child how to play when you can create an imagination hub?
POND BUILDS
Our Principal Designer Ryan Young is an expert in Garden Pond Design. Allow him to bring the gift of water to your outdoor living spaces. With skillful plantmanship, we can recreate the tranquil billabongs found in the Australian bush. Our pond designs carefully mimic the wetland profiles found in nature. Swathes of sedges and aquatic plants will allow nature’s filtering process to be undertaken without the need for harsh chemicals.
WELLNESS GARDENS
We all know how we feel when we are in nature. Nature for the body, mind and spirit is essential for wellness, and distance from nature can actually make us sick. The concept of shinrin yoku, or “forest bathing" was introduced in Japan in the early 80's. This is not exercise, or hiking, or jogging. It is simply being in nature, connecting with it through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. We can design a garden space for meditation, yoga or just for reflection. Immerse yourself in a space that heals.
EDIBLE GARDENS
With a backgound in organic and bio-dynamic agriculture and owning and running a succesful permaculture property, our Principal Designer Ryan Young is one of Melbourne’s kitchen garden design specialists. We can transform a bland backyard or balcony space into a produce garden paradise. Our experience has helped Melbourne’s foodies establish and maintain a perfect kitchen garden space. Through clever solutions and tested products, it's possible for families living in the smallest of apartments or large backyards to enjoy the ‘fruits’ of their own kitchen garden. We can also provide follow up planting support. Previous projects include assisting teachers and parents of Melbourne’s primary schools and kindergarten’s continue to maintain the productive gardens that have been installed as part of the Stephanie Alexander School Garden Program and communities effected by bushfires.
HABITAT/WILD GARDENS
Who doesn't love walking through the natural bush.. Why not create the 'bush' at home? To create a successful Habitat Garden you need to think multi-dimentionally. The space must provide food, water, cover and a place where children can freely play. It must also be maintained in a way that has a positive effect on the health of the soil, air, water, and habitat for native wildlife. More specifically, the presence of native grasses, shrubs, and trees is necessary without discounting exotics.
